Morgan was featured in a short film about AIDS education and prevention. Safe Sex for Men and Women. Morgan donated a portion of her earnings towards the American Foundation for AIDS Research. She is a member of the entertainment industry's AIDS Task Force. Morgan has been involved in numerous fundraising initiatives for the illness and has been a witness before an Congressional Special Committee regarding AIDS Education. She is on the Board of Governors of APLA. C. Everett Koop's previous deputy surgeon general requested her from time to time to substitute for him at AIDS awareness events. She also was host of a AIDS Awareness Special presented by Steve Bell. She has appeared twice on Nightline with Ted Koppell regarding AIDS. Morgan has been nominated for an Emmy for the special Murphy Brown episode written by Diane English for her. In spring, she was a guest as Joan Rivers on ABC's Your Money or Your Wife. She then began her summer season by appearing in Murder At The PTA Luncheon created by Von Zeerneck/Sertner. Also, it included Cindy Williams and Marla gibbs. Then she starred in Harmony Gold's production Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady with Christopher Lee and Patrick McNee. Morgan was also in the film, a psychological thriller that was produced by USA Network. The film was a huge success and received the highest ratings ever.
